Hi there I have a question;
Is it ok to install a pool in the backyard, when the backyard is a Ravine sloping down and away from the house?
If yes, what is the maximum slope allowed to install one?
Thanks a bunch,
Joe

It's OK (allowed) to install a pool on your roof. But its not always practical.

That would be up to the engineer designing the installation of the pilings to support the pool.
I'd also be concerned about falling over the edge and into the ravine - not a pleasant thought or outcome.

My yard was sloped as you mentioned so we leveled the grade out for the pool and have it terraced down from the rear of the home down to the pool.
You don't want to get into having to place piers under the shell unless you want to shell out some big bucks.

Don't forget to check your Home Owner's Insurance! A pool is "an attractive nuisance" and even with posted signs and a fence, you can be liable for two teenagers ignoring it all and jumping in anyway (probably the night you added all the chemicals....)
And you can be held responsible no matter how stupid they were.
