Ever try using DragonSpeak with a head cold? Man o man, the thing hardly recognizes me and sniffling makes the cursor jump all over the place.

How often do you use yours John? I tried it for a little while and it's a neat product but it transposed common words too much for my liking no matter how much I anunciated. After some trial and too much error, I found it was faster and easier for me to just type out my reports.

It may be worth it for the slower typists among us.

People are shocked at how fast I can type with never having any formal typing lessons. I use about all my fingers but nothing in the way that would represent a typist. I always wish I did take typing lessons years and decades ago. A female friend of mine types faster than anyone I have ever seen or heard. It sound like two automatic weapons firing at the key board.

For those just starting out and taking classes for home inspection...If you have not learned to type I suggest you call around about classes and go for it. It is something you will appreciate for the rest of your life.

I sometimes (not much) use it for those times when I wish to get lengthy and very narrative.
I stopped using it much once I found a better and less expensive program called Active Words .

The developer is a nice guy and very helpful.
Wish it was available on Android apps but I use swift keys with predictive text for that.

I use it on all my reports.

To ditch the wrong words you can go into the library and delete them. It's more likely to pick up the word you intend when the other is not in the data bank. At least that method was helpful to me.

The word, WATER, gives it a fit. My accent apparently sounds like warter or warder. I had to train it to translate the word. Just guess how many times you could use the word "water" in a report.

Hi Stuart, when was the last time you used warter or warder in a report? lol. had to look them up on the internet. apparently they are english words. warter is a town in england and warder is a prison guard. both have more to their meanings too. lol :)

In Philadelphia (Fluffya), it's pronounced "wooder", like wood, the stuff houses are framed with.

Thats easy to fix.

Go to the toolbar (DragonBar) and click Words, then View/Edit...

Then type the offending word in the field, such as warder; you'll see the word appear on the list, highlight it and delete. After that it should not come up any more.

You could also take advantage of your cold to create a new user named cold.
Next time you have a cold you can choose that user profile and "bingo "have no issues.

When one has a " 'code' 'inner' 'node' " and are "caffeine":D ;) ,
even humans have to ask questions sometimes to understand one speaking or "coughing" out their words.

VRS can't make it out any better, a windscreen on the mic and keeping it up at near nose level (not mouth level or chin) helps somewhat. Or have you trained it speaking through a dust/germ mask?

Keeping older outdated puter with older version VI/VRS. Heard nothing but complaints on every ver. 9+.

Once had a sneeze mid-word come out as kaffeklatsch. Fitting and funny since I'm forbidden to drink coffee de-caff or otherwise, but think about it often, especially when I too have a cold.
