This is not the only brand that will show inaccurate readings when the battery gets low. Just one that has been recalled. I have a fluke that will show weird readings when battery is low. I test with power on, then off and verify.

An Analog meter is usually best when unsure, nothing beats a moving needle..

Another recall? Golly gee whiz .... I feel an attack of the vapors coming on!

As for the title of this thread .... EVERY brand has had such recalls, no matter where made or the 'prestige' of the equipment.

Of course, I will adopt your recommendation and stick to nice, safe, made -in-the-USA FPE equipment.
