Has anybody who's received one of these Angie's List awards seen it result in any noticeable uptick in business?

A buddy who is a contractor has gotten a few/number/some of those. Don't remember the details. He does see an uptick in business for a short time period afterwards. I only know because he tells me about it.
Another HI who posts here from time to time gets a fair amount of Angie's list work. I don't know if he has gotten an super service awards. Nick if you want, you can PM me and I'll give you his info. He's a nice guy, I can't imagine he would mind if you contact him.

Got one for the first time this year, it's made a small difference (a few inspections) for me.

I got an e-mail from them today that I earned one for 2010. With the award, Angie's List gives permission for me to put the super service award logo on my website at no charge. I guess I'll just have to throw the logo on my site and see what happens.

Thanks for the offer Markus. If I have any further curiosity, I may PM you for your buddy's contact info.

Nick,

We've received our third SSA in a row and its makes a difference for us, for sure. Yeah, you get to post the banner and buy all kinds of stuff if you wish. We just use the banner on our homepage but will likely bring it into other marketing pieces this year. Markus may have been referring to us and that's fine if you want to PM me and chat. I'm on the phone with MK every week talking shop, etc.

Hopefully all of you are as lucky as about a dozen of us HIs in Chicago who can call or email each other without reproach and bang out questions, ponderings, the like. It's just like golf, where your competitor will help you out so you can play your best and not worry if that advice knocks him off the podium.

Merry Christmas

Nick,

Markus just gets a little salty that I've taken all of his and few other veteran inspectors' machinations and implemented them at a younger age :p. I am, without a doubt, the youngin' in the group but they seem to keep me in the loop and value my opinion--from time to time, haha.
