The "dog" makes the room bounce? Humm, me thinks I would be looking at adding a tad bit more support!

From an engineering point of view, I think cantilevers are pretty cool. Here in MN we have the Guthrie Theatre which has a cantilever of 178' which I believe at the time of construction was the largest/longest known cantilever. It's design allows occupancy of 1000 people.

Man, I bet there is some serious earth work back up under the main part to handle that uplift load! :eek: Maybe the main part of the house is made of hollowed out granite as ballast.:D

We have some mobile homes around here that look real similar. Now I'm thinking they did it on purpose!
