View Full Version : conductor under screw of the breaker

The connections don't look right to me. All the wiring is under the screws of the breakers but it looks like they should be inserted between two plates and the screw tightening down on it to make a pressure connection. I think the picture shows that some of the wiring is only barely under the screw. The metal plates may not be visible though. The panel was a Commander.

Is that a 90 amp breaker with either #10 or #8 going to it? I agree with you that the way the wires are attached to the breakers looks wrong.

I agree with you on the conductor placement under the screw. The electrician did noot take the time to look at what they were doing. For proper tension to be applied to the conductor it should be in the sadle of the conductor scoket.
