I wasn't sure about the appropriate place to post this...and am looking for a more appropriate title...any suggestions?

Jim, that is a funny picture. But have you heard "wrong questions don't have right answers"?:D

I like the 4x 90 degree turns that make the full 360 degree turn around the p-vent. That took some bubba-enjuneering. :D

You can laugh at it but that guy named Billy Mayes on TV that sells all the gadgets and screams during the whole commercial will be selling all 4 of those sponges in a set for 29.95 before long. :)

NAHI forum recently held a crazy photo contest. Your's would have made it at least into the semi-finals, IMO. I'm jealous.

The irony is that it would have taken less duct tape and no sponges at all to just "fix" the problem from topside!
What a terrible waste of valuable resources! :)

I think the guy who did the "repair" is at least one rafter short underneath his roof deck.

Less duct tape?
Yes.
One wrap around the pipe at the deteriorated flashing would have done it. ;)

Jerry...the one wrap around the deteriorated flashing had already deteriorated.

Okay, I guess it needed two wraps around the deteriorated flashing, one which is sacrificed so the other lasts longer?
I see how the mind of that guy worked - first, he wrapped the deteriorated flashing, when that deteriorated, he said 'I may not be smart, but I am a fast learner, I will put the next repair in the attic so the sun does not deteriorate it.'. :)
