Anyone ever seen a panel like this one? 1948 home. No apparent size on the breakers, double tapping, unusual connections etc. Any comments on what you see would be appreciated. I personally have not seen a panel with breakers this old before. Thanks in advance.

Those are "Multibreakers" , they were sold by a number of manufacturers ....

Steve, hope you don't mind me adding a question to this thread,

is this a split bus panel?

If it is, it's unlike one I've seen before. The double pole breaker at the left was labeled water heater. The others had no labeling. Love to find an old electrician to explain it.

That panel is older than I am. It predates the Stab-loks by a few years. It is a fire waiting to happen with all those multi-taps.

An 'arc' is an electrical spark. An 'ark' is an biblical boat. That panel should not be used in a submarine. :D

Have seen a few in Tacoma area. Old old old. Would suggest replacement due to fire hazard. Might want to add in review of the entire electrical system.
