"Remember that a home inspection is supposed to warn you about any problems with the property before you buy it," Hicks adds.

This kind of article does more harm than good both to home inspectors and to buyers who use home inspectors thinking ALL the problems with a property will be found.

That's why it is important to lower your clients' expectations to a realistic level before you start your inspection. If there is a problem lurking inside a wall far from view you (the inspector) will be unable to warn them (the buyers) of that problem.
