On an inspection today, I noticed that the area between the two insulated panes had cracking of its paint. It was mainly on the bottom and a bit on the sides. The house is only 7 years old making the windows also about 7 years old. I wondered if anyone knew if this is just an aesthetic thing or is this something that may cause a problem later. I didn't note any fogging or troubles with the windows. I suspect it may just be UV damage, but thought I'd ask the experts.

Is that paint? Looks like those might be vinyl frames.

The windows were vinyl. It was just cracking like paint. Some of the cracks were even bigger and gave that paint peeling appearance.

IMO, it looks like the spacer in between the panes of glass is failing or just a bad design. If all is fine at time of Inspection, report it as such, but maybe mention the issue in report as a discretionary issue and to be monitored.
