22119I am trying to identify a siding material - it looks like T1-11 but is a fibrous material. I want to ID this material so I can get a copy of the installation instructions [web search].

As seen in the photos this has been installed to grade, typically these types of materials require a minimum separation from grade.

Thank you for any assistance you may provide.

It looks like a MDF (medium density fiberboard) product. The pattern looks like it might be Georgia Pacific. What was the size of the panels or planks?

That looks like masonite to me.

It might be a Masonite brand product, they did make MDF panels and planks up till the late 1990's. The got out of the siding business when they got hit with mega lawsuits over their MDF siding.

Looks like that old fiberboard garbage we used to put around back porch enclosures. Good luck finding an install manual for that. Whoever made the stuff has probably scoured the web trying to erase any documentation. That stuff just screams 'more water, more water'.
Good luck

I found this on a web search for how to install this product:

Light propane torch, touch to siding, if siding is too wet to burn then siding is too wet to remain in place, remove siding and install real siding; if siding is not too wet to burn, allow siding to burn, sweep up ashes, install real siding.

Thanx for the replies - this material was actually installed about 1 year ago.

dana,
if it was installed one year ago it has far exceeded its expected service time. see Jerry's post above for further action!:D
