Wiring touching HW copper nipples

I think I made a mistake and asked my carpenter (and he is excellent at carpentry) to pull outlet and ceiling light wires in my cottage. Now when I come to check the work I find several wires are touching the HW supply and return copper nipples (servicing European style, wall hung HW radiators). My HW heating supply temp will be abot 140/150 F degrees.

I am uncomfortable with this situation but I dont know the rules. My heating contractor says its a no-no but he is a HVAC guy.

Please advise.

Acquire a proper permit for modifications from your electrical Authority.

Your electrical authority can advise you as to where you can consult the provincial code with ammendments as applicable.



Hire a legitimate electrical contractor/electrician.

Get your appropriate INSPECTIONS and certifications/stickers showing inspected from your electrical authority.

Call a qualified electrician to correct the improper wiring.

Do you have any pictures of the situation/installation that you can post?

I will agree with your statement that having the carpenter run electrical lines was a mistake. You should bring in a professional electrician. But pics of the mess would help.

I advised you to hire a legitimate electrician.

I advised you to acquire inspections AND a permit from your Electrical Safety Authority.

I advised you as to how you could acquire the information and safety correction information you seek.

I advised you to stop breaking the law and to do the right thing.

Before you and your "crew" injure or kill somebody; or burn your cabin down.

Just because you don't like my advice doesn't mean it wasn't fully responsive to your original post. (It was).

Thanks a lot, y'all, for your help. I have hired an electrician and reassigned the carpenter to his speciality. First thing the electrican said when inspecting the work, and talking about going forward was: gotta move those wires away from the rads and HW supply pipes.
