Those are 'mainly' cosmetic. The actual window pane-to-frame seal is inside. The glazing is sealed to the metal frame on the inside between the glazing panel and the metal frame.

Then those aluminum or plastic 'glazing bead' trims are cut to fit and snapped into place.

I would think the glazing bead is the least of the worry regarding those windows. My bet is;

Those windows are hard to open due to the sache balancer
The windows are so inefficient-- you might be better of with duct-tape and a Glad bag.
The locking mechanisms are either non-aligning (too tight) or are waaaay too lose (have to be shimmed).If they were all cracked, it would just be a heck of alot easier....
