how would you guys report this it these are vents (inside)that were left like this as a patio room was added to building

I would report it as the patio room was likely added without a permit and the work was likely done by other-than-professional contractors.

Sometimes I will say something like "the temporary addition will need to be upgraded or removed". It makes the client aware that it's not built right, but I'm going to concentrate on the 'permanent' part, so as not to waste precious time on how to fix a junky build. "Remove it"

I told a client the leanto on the side of the house was bringing the property value down, so tear it off. Now he's got an old car parked in there, oh well, he knows it's a temporary shelter.
