Looking at SN - might be 2000. Same as Aitions' - upto 1976 coded to 1st four digits. EG: serial x506 = 1975 and 06 = June

From 1976 to approx 1990 coded to 1st five digits. EG: serial x 7809... = 1978 and 09 = Sept

Newer numbers, 1st two numbers for Year. EG: serial 95B-CP2810 = 1995
