Some jump 15 feet or more.

Wolf spiders can jump about 15 feet as well.

Kids play with spiders like that all the time but I would be doing a sissy dance away from that sucker faster than it took to see it.

I had a roommate once that had a tarantula.
Strange thing, it died.

In the rural areas around here we call those things (and scorpions) roommates. :D

The roommate or the spider? Or the roommate because of the spider?:D

When I looked up "taranchula" online, I got two things in particular, a death metal band and an animated internet cartoon.

I got one when I was a kid. She was cute, fuzzy and pretty with her orange and yellow striped legs... like colorful socks.
Used to throw feeding parties for my friends. Used to feed her crickets but would occasionally starve her for a few weeks and then throw her a big fat mouse. Aw those were the days!

Years later when she had grown very large I would have to handle her every few days to keep my nerve up.
Got busy with life (females of the human kind) and didn't play with her for a month or two.
When I finally got around to picking her up.... She jumped half way up my arm... I instinctively jerked and she fell to the floor and subsequently broke open. She later died.
Still trying to find a woman to replace her but they just don't know how to pick socks I like.

maybe next time you can train it to take pic's and help out with the hard to reach spots to inspect. the added revenue would be nice and just think of the pics you could get... lol
