Question for you electrical geniuses.
Today's inspection
3 phase utility pole in background
Steel garbage chute for Condo unit owners in foreground
3'-5' clearance between the two depending on from where you measure
And NO I didn't want to get more precise measurements
I'm really concerned about this. There's no separation protection between the two. Seems dangerously close to me.
Anyone know about utility pole clearances?
Thanks for any help, Markus

As you know Markus I seldom venture down into your area but when I have I've seen all kinds of goofy stuff. Considering that "conditioning", that transformer would probably not raise an eyebrow for me. I don't know if it's outside of the regs but even if it were I think it'd be a very slim chance that anyone of authority would be willing to do anything about it. Trying to get people to appreciate potential situations can be a tough hurdle.

Hi Eric, yeah it's the wild, wild west down here sometimes.
So far I've found references to the NESC stating a minimum 5' clearance. However I haven't been able to find the exact text or section. I'll probably just reference it so I can get the report out this morning.
Condo also has electric radiant heat in the floors or ceilings. However, no one has any info on what type of radiant, when installed, how, manufacturer or anything else. No access panels or location markers. Based on the breakers in the panel only 2 out of four rooms could legitimately have such radiant heat.
I told the client it seems rather iffy that the place will actually be warm in deep winter.
