If you have registered, you will be able to edit and delete your posts. Note that the administrator can disable this ability as he desires. Your ability to edit your posts may also be time-limited, depending on how the administrator has set up the forum.
To edit or delete your posts, click the http://www.inspectionnews.net/home_inspection/images/ca_evo/buttons/edit.gif button by the post you want to edit. If your post was the first in the thread, then deleting the post may result in the removal of the entire thread.
After you have made your modifications, a note may appear, which notifies other users that you have edited your post. Administrators and moderators may also edit your messages but this note may not appear when they do so.

so how do i delete this??? the edit button does not allow for deletion of this post!!

You cannot delete your post, however you can delete all of the content of your post.

Original topic/discussion/(first) thread posts can not be user-deleted, only edited. Responsive posts can be user-deleted.

Only the "administrator", our host (Brian H.) of this site presently has the "permission" to Delete orignial (first, initial) discussion thread posts and by doing so, therefore, the entire topic discussion.

The FAQs you "found" are generic to the forum software (vBulletin), they have not been "customized" or "personalized" to "fit" the "permissions granted" or options selected by the forum's (InspectionNews.net) host/owner/administrator.

This is just the type question that belongs in the "Help" topic discussion area. You may find in the future it has been relocated (moved) there.

H.G. is correct. You can not delete the first post in a thread but you can edit it. Other posted can be deleted by clicking on Edit -> Advanced and then you will have a delete option. It will delete all the content but a marker will be left saying that you have deleted your post. If you want a post to be removed completely just let me know and I will take care of it.
