Is a/c refrigeration piping allowed in an electrical chase. Can any one offer a code cite for this?

thanks!

Allen,

I know of no issue with what you have pictured. As long as the chase is not "conduit" designed specifically to shield conductors from damage, then a chase is a chase. If there were issues, then you couldn't have HVAC lines and electrical conductors in the attic (a really big chase) nor could you have the HVAC lines and electric together in the plenums in commercial construction.

Read IRC E3305.3 - Clearance over Panelboards. If it's within the dedicated space required above the panel, it's wrong. Looks like it might be...

I'd reference the NEC but I could not find it.

Is it just me, or do others also remember other posts which were posted to this. I am sure that I post one.

BRIAN!!!!! ;)

And this is not the first time I've seen older recent posts be brought back up and previous replies lost in cyberspace somewhere.
