Hi all,

I just wanted to know if anyone had an opinion about these type of stairs.

I know the guard rail is missing vertical posts.

However, the stairs were very wobbly if you were not walking in the middle. That is, if your foot was near the edge, there was a lot of give.

Is this a security concern. It kind of bothers me to have this "modern" look, yet its kind of scarry everytime you step on it.

thanks.

Zane

As Shown without handrails it's a Safety Hazard .

Not only are the guards missing on both sides (the other side looks open too), but the openings between the risers exceeds 4".

For your question, though, sounds like the welds are breaking loose.

That entire stairway is unsafe.

Stairways are simple. If they move, they're dangerous.

I was thinking about stairs earlier this morning and was wondering how often basement stairs fail. I don't come across news about them but I do see many that are very poorly secured. If anyone has such info on this I'd like to have it.
