Yep, all those boxes which were stored in the attic ... worn the insulation right off that conductor as the insulation deteriorated, fortunately there were no metallic foil boxes laying on it ... might have been a rather "enlightening" experience if there had been.

Yes, live knob and tube. I did know I had live K&T before I opened the attic hatch but did not expect it right there and naked as a Jaybird.
