Just working around neighbourhood, the first I saw power wash cleaning vinyl siding loud noise. For sure the water will get behind vinyl. It should be dry out in a couple of days. any concern on siding power wash? Is stucco the worst?

Thanks

Peter, It is my opinion that the stucco is not the worst (aslong) as no large cracks, or if a lath problem.

Should power wash be avoided on siding cleaning?

It all depends on the out put pressure and the type of nozzle and the angle of the water spray.

Never power wash a house! You will force water into areas that you do not want water to go! Power washing a home regardless of the cladding is a good way to cause visible and hidden damage to it. Just don't do it!

Us a garden sprayer with your cleaner of choice and then spray the cleaner off with the garden hose.

Check with manufacture some recommend power wash others do not.

Never power wash a house!

Power washing a house happens frequently in Florida, we call that action "hurricanes". :)

A few years ago I did a relocation inspection of a nice home with a large sun-porch with dual pane windows. Most of the windows had moisture between the panes.

The seller reported that her church group came over after Sunday Mass for a cleaning party with a power washer..... whoops! Bad lesson about power washers. Too much of a good thing.

I got a new power washer a couple months ago and "washed" my garage floor. Now I have grooves in the floor that look like grafitti. Apparently I should have used the fan spray, not the jet spray,

Another thing to consider is that surfactants can minimize the water hold out ability of the WRB.
Soap is a surfactant and when pressure washing you really can expose the WRB behind vinyl to this surfactant treatment.
I also encourage people not to use a pressure washer on the siding.
