Hello
Has anyone seen this before.
The condensate drain line drains into the laundry tub and the condensation was black.
Also the liquid line (small copper) was cold and sweating at the furnace. The temp did not decrease no matter what the thermostat was set on.
I will refer for further evaluation. Just curious

And this is why you do not drink the condensation water! Condensation water is dirty; it is collecting whatever is in the air and is being sucked through the coils. This is also a very good sign that the evap coil is really dirty and needs attention.

It also indicates a high probability the filters are dirty or were before the seller prepared for an inspection. Both conditions indicate less than wonderful preventive maintenance habits.
