I recently was asked to look at an attic area in a house that had obviously been modified by non-professionals. Enclosed a 2 photos: 1. of the existing roof where you can clearly see gaps in the plywood. 2. a top photo of the "old" roof that seems to have a flashing covering the top (joint) of two seperate pieces.

I would appreciate your opinions on this?
Thanks

Looks like there was a ridge vent there, which would have been fine.
The double ridge board is unusual since there are trusses that are usually full span. Is this a modular?

Well it would look to me like a possible explanation. But the previous roof seems to built the same way so perhaps the whole thing was modular...

Looks like a manufactured home or a modular home based on the hing-type pivoting truss plates.

The more I look at the photos, the more I tend to agree with the "modular" explanation. Thanks for your wisdom.
