Flattened beer can holds up ceiling fan

The fan hung from treaded rods passing through the electrical box.
The rods hung from a bracket evidently made for the purpose.
However, the bracket was held up by a flattened beer can with a nail through the center.

Essentially the beer can was acting as a washer, preventing the 1/4 inch nail head from passing through the 3/4 inch hole in the bracket.

On the plus side, the nail was at least ring-shank.

For safety, one would hope it was Stout! However, it seemed to be some kind of lite beer... perhaps chosen because of the lite kit on the fan?

Consider the alternative - send the beer can to China, then buy it back as a light fixture. :confused:
