September 13, 2012

AHIT announced today that a new version of their home inspection reporting software, InspectIt® HomeReport™ is now available for use on the iPad.

The key features of the latest version include an easier user interface, enhanced screen display, the ability to easily adjust the resolution and size of pictures, capture client signatures, and add, edit, and save custom comments for future use. The latest version also includes over 380 pre-loaded comments as well as functionality for both checklist and narrative reports to help accelerate the home inspection reporting process.

“Our new version of the software will be a wonderful asset to any home inspector and builds upon an already great product. It’s really important to us that we are able to give home inspectors the tools they need to report their findings with clarity, speed, and ease,” said Chandra Lau, Software Production Manager at AHIT.

AHIT’s software and home inspection reports have been the leaders and innovators in the home inspection industry for over 16 years. AHIT is one of the only companies that has developed home inspection software for both the iPad/iPhone and Android systems. The new software reports meet all the standards of practice established by the home inspection governing bodies and have been approved by realtors to meet their customer needs.

“AHIT is passionate about bringing its customers the technology that complements their skills as home inspectors. We are committed to the constant improvement of our software and technology, and in doing so, taking all the necessary steps to make sure that we have the best products on the market,” said Chris Neville, Senior Vice President of AHIT.

I hope these folks have gotten the message that they need to improve their customer service, because frankly, it stinks.

At least in my experience.

Mt sentiments are similar to Raymond. Is there still a mandatory monthly "support" bill to pay after the short honeymoon period ? If so, there is the something you can do. Quit making clients pay to be instructed and/or supported on how to use the product.

Blair,
Glad to see you using this forum to advertise.

Sometime we look at things for some time before we actually see something, forest for the trees.

The banner says " Realtor Approved " .
Would you explain exactly what "Realtor Approved" means.
Thanks

Bob,

Yes, you can download a free demo here: Free Demo Download (http://inspectit.com/downloads/index.cfm)

It does have draft written on the report, but it has full functionality so you can test completely it before you purchase. Give it a shot, and let us know what you think.

Hope that helps,
Blair

Garry,

Appreciate your comments. I spoke with our customer service team and they shared that they have spent hours with you on the phone. I hope that has been helpful. We charge a nominal fee so we can employee great people to help you and others with their software questions and concerns.

Thanks,
Blair

Garry,

Great question. While we were developing this software, we wanted to make sure that Realtor's loved our reports and would work for their clients. We asked them to review every aspect of our reports and they shared overwhelmingly positive feedback with us.

Also, we are now a preferred partner of First Weber (the largest realtor group in Wisconsin) and have more realtor groups that we will be working with in the future.

Thanks,
Blair

Thank you Blair. Hours is accurate , as it was more than two, but no more than four and helpful enough to steer me to different software. I have not spoken to any AHIT affiliates for at least two years. I just wanted inspectors to know they will be billed "a nominal fee" monthly for support, if they work with AHIT. I'm not asserting that as bad, but I am asserting that it is.

Does this mean that if someone buys the software and is having problems you charge to help them? I think that is NUTS!

I bought my Home Inspector Pro about 4-5 years ago. Dom has never charged me for an update, I couldn't begin to count how many times he has spent a great deal of phone time helping me out... even on a Saturday or Sunday. There were even times he responded to me when he was out eating dinner.

No thank you, I will stick with HIPro.

You guys (AHIT) should take a few lessons from him (Dominick).

Also, The name of your program is somewhat similar to Home Inspector Pro.
Was that intentional?

Hi Steven,

Each business is different, and we model our software support similar to Microsoft/Adobe/ect... where there is a support fee to help support our software team and create new improved products (like the InspectIt HomeReport). Ultimately, you need to find a software that will work best for you and it sounds like you have that.

Best,
Blair

Steven,

No, our name was the outcome of specific home inspector market research and leveraging the InspectIt name that we have had for years.

Thanks,
Blair

I also have had poor experience with AHIT, poor support, to questions asked slow to reply etc.. Their software has potential but its not there yet. I recently asked if the reporting software can annotate pictures their support person said yes" I went to it and opened and tried to annotate a photo and what do you know it does not annotate photos, unless it does and because of the lack of a users manual I was not able to annotate the pic. It looks as though their support personnel doesn't not know the product as well as they should. Not only is it lacking but it's pricey, what's up with that AHIT. I could keep on going but what's the point, I just noticed how Blair justified their charges; to hire quality personnel - really Blair/AHIT!
