I just found today that one of the supporting pillar/posts in the crawl space is missing. The missing post should be the one approximately at the corner of the house. It should have been very easy to spot because the concrete base on which every post sits is still there except that there is wood post on top  But this part of the crawl space is pretty difficult to get access to ...

In this part of the crawl space, there is a grid of posts -- 5 columns and 4 rows. The missing one is at the corner of the grid.

I couldn't figure out any reason why it is missing. There is no pipe or duct in this region so no need to remove it to get extra space.

Any idea why this happened and how to fix? By the way, it is a concrete perimeter foundation.

I will try to snap a picture, but any suggestions first?

Any input is appreciated!

Any idea why this happened Impossible to say without guessing. Water damaged, rotted, insect/termite damaged, never installed, etc.etc.

and how to fix?Yes, get someone down there to install the properly sized pier.
