I have to get my hearing checked. I could have sworn the buyer said that the seller was a HVAC contractor...

Picky HI

More than condensate would have hit the pan if he were to have used his wife's good roasting pan.

Kudos for utilization of the available materials and saved the gas, time, money and the earth by not having to make another trip to the supply store.

Kind of a smart way to take care of a possible problem... I not 100% sure but I do not think the condensation pump is required to be in a pan. I'll need to look that one up...

I see condensation pumps all the time most in my area have an emergency cutoff float switch installed in them that detect high water or if the unit fails.

I think you heard him right, probably is a HVAC contractor…

Just like the Plumbers house with a missing sink…
The Builders home with half the cabinets installed…
And, the Electricians home with light fixtures hanging from the wires…

I have never seen anything requiring protection for the pump. The blue wire nuts are over flow switch and appear to be hooked up, unusual esp for HVAC contractors home:D .
My question is why have a pump if there is enough rise for that home made trap?

That was one of my questions, too. Gravity is so much more reliable than an electric pump.

God I hate it when gravity fails!
