Ow, ow, ow ... "journeyman" "implies" some knowledge and training.

Just buying a hammer and a saw does not make one a "journeyman". ;)

I'd say a 'wannabe'.

Agreed but haven't you ever seen journeymen work that looks like this picture ? I have and the journeyman claimed he'd been in the biz 20+ years.
