I have been seeing a lot of storage lofts built in garage ceilings lately. Some are built better than others but almost all are lacking in some way. I always recommend that the sellers ask the buyers for evidence that the work was properly permitted, inspected and approved. (A permit is needed for any structural work.)
This one had a bit of a twist. A support post (a former utility pole) is itself supported by an ammunition box. No, I did not check to see if the ammo box was empty.
