Never seen this before, something just does not look right. These are a series of pictures showing how the gas fired water heater exhaust was plumbed. The exhaust comes out of the unit, does an immediate 90, goes up then does another 90 and goes over to a tee that is shared with the furnace. Is this OK, both units are in an attic. I saw no signs of exhaust spillage around the copper water connections at the tank that you normally see with spillage.
