What do you suppose the hose is for? Bad sign?

Irrigation system for the garden maybe.

Put the pump in and the connect the hose to the water slide for the kids. Summer is here and schools are out soon.

the septic drainage field may be filled / clogged and they pump out the grey water with it... my neighbors did that for 15 years or so long before I moved in, there were odd peice of hose, pipe, electical conduit in a rough line going out into the woods out back from that house.... New owners got a new system...

Also possibly a convenient place to store hose where it would not get hit by mower? (Long shot guess).

I suppose that that's what they're doing here - the hose is connected to the ball valve on the discharge pipe inside the tank. I'm guessing that they turn the valve whenever there's a problem with the drain field; and let the system pump the brew out onto the ground.

At least they weren't trying to hide it - the hose was still attached. Still, there was nothing mentioned on the disclosure - perhaps the owner's thought that this was normal SOP for this type of system.

Nobody in the area will install the pressure type systems anymore - they're using aerobic systems. They don't even want to work on them - when they fail, they replace them with aerobic ones for around $6,500 a pop.

The hose is a non issue.

The hose is a non issue.

Exactly why do say it is a "non issue"?

If you bought the property not knowing why the hose and pump were there, it becomes a potential issue.

Possibly it is an aerator for the septic tank. I see the hose and a pump but can not see what type of pump. But I would suspect it is to pump out of tank as others have said.
