Does a wash machine discharge more than 5 gals?

If the pail overflows, they can always empty it into the sink.

Just to clarify, that is not an air gap.
A washing machine does not require an air gap, only an air break.
What is shown is an air break.
I only mention this because some HI's may not understand the difference in an air gap/ air break or which one is required for a washing machine.

I wasn't poking at you.
I realize you were making a lighthearted comment not intended to be technically accurate.

I really was thinking it may confuse some HI's (not you) about air gaps/ air breaks.

Looking again, there might be an air-gap and an air-break:confused:

The Bucket is for the Sink.

The WM Drains into the Drain hole cut into the wall.:p
