Hi All, Came across this weed type, stuffed in the drain title of a sum pump. Not sure if it's intended to be home made filter or there is some growth in the pipe. Has anyone come across this?
Any assistance or advise would be most appreciated.

Those are tree or shrub roots! Those small feeder roots search for moisture, and they found it!

Hi Scott, Good morning, I can always count on you for help. THANKS, I'm planing to recommend to the client to have a video scan to see if there is damage etc. What do you think/advice.
Thank you

I'm sure the drain pipe/tile is full of roots, mud, etc... Depending on the type of pipe that was used they may be able to router out the line or it might be time to replace it.

What did you think the "weed growth" was, exactly?
(In other words, you were there, what was your impression?)

That certainly looks like a lot of CE opportunity, Scott.

I agree! Some of the best CE and presenters that I have seen in one location since I have been in the profession. I don't think any of the sessions are repeats, that was one of the goals of the selection committee when they put the program together for InspectionWorld Nashville 2014 (http://www.inspectionworld.com)

Just supriced, I've never seen weeds growing inside the pipe/draintile
in over 1000 of inspection I've done in my area. Just wanted to get another opinion that's all

No need to defend yourself, Fidel. Sometimes we will see something strange and new and our brains alone can't send out a good answer. That is what this board should be about.

John, sorry that I sounded like I was defending myself. I apologize, trust me I'm never too proud to ask for help or learn from others. You are 100% correct . "That's what this forum is all about" thank so much for taking the time to write. Warmest regards
