200 Amp Service Panel

I'm putting in a 200A service panel and some of my existing wire is short, can I use 4x4 junction boxes to make the connection to my new panel. I'm also going to install my panel horizontally instead of vertical is this allowed ? I have bought new 3/0 THHN for my service feed its just most of my branch circuits are short like my electric heat, stoves, heat pump and things like that, could someone give me there opinion on this ?

If the wires reach into the panel, it is best to just make the wires longer to reach where they need to go by using a wire nut connector and just adding to the wire.

Absolutely not allowed. The panel must be installed vertically on the wall.
