Multi stranc copper?

I was in a house from 1939 and electrical has all been upgraded and appears to have been permitted. I did notice a multi strand wire in the box. This appears to have been one of the first wires placed in the box,almost all the other wires were neatly layered over this wire. Is multi strand wire acceptable, I have searched and not much of any results.

It looks like the white is split into two holes instead of one like the code requires. As long as this is a neutral and not touching the case I don't see another issue, although it is way over stripped. That is easily fixed.

Larger conductors are commonly stranded. Is this the first time you have seen a stranded conductor?

Looks like the stripped back part of the white conductor is real close to the back of the cabinet.

No, it is not acceptable to separate and twist the strands of a single conductor like that.

As stated earlier a larger lug should be installed to accommodate the entire conductor. I am curious t know what that conductor is for as the insulation appears to me to be yellow.

I think the yellow tint over that area of the photo may be from the flash or reflection of the flash.
