Marco Factory built Question

Anyone know if Marco (1995 ish) requires the first offset to snap into the starter collar or slip w/screws.

You would need a copy of the listed instructions from Marco on that unit. Since Marco has been out of business about 10 yrs. those manuals are getting harder to find.

In general, mfrs. will allow an elbow right off the appliance collar on a factory built fireplace IF all the offset and return joints are reinforced with 4 equidistantly spaced screws in the outer casing. While your photo shows a male lance, elbows are crimped and generally do not snap into their inner sections since they need to be able to rotate. There should be a bead rolled into the female end to provide snug fit. The screws would not be seen in the inner flue as shown here (and that would be a problem). Marco used their spacer springs to snap into slots in the outer female casing but again, you can't really do that with ells.

I cant find the listed instruction anywhere. These older boxes are kind-of a pain in the butt. appreciate your information, like always right on point.
