Our condo in NYC wants to go back to gas after 40 years of burning oil. We were originally built in 1959 for both oil and gas. The old gas infrastructure is still in place. Other peoples experiences welcome. Does anybody have experience of THERMOCRETE chimney re-lining?

Thermocrete would be relining the old masonry chimneys with mortar held in place with a temporary balloon?

I think the preferred method is flexible stainless steel liner. That way the pipe is sized correctly for the appliance and there is less chance of a gap or break in the liner.

Thermocrete is used for resurfacing, not relining. It is not the same as a poured in place lining.
