I have to admit that i occasional hope for these during those hot summer months! Sure beats a dripping wet crawlspace form high humidity.

Pulling off a supply duct by an insulation installer, to cool off, is very common. A conscientious installer will carry Zip ties and foil tape to repair (his) temporary A/C....But the rest of the installers will not.

This is why IR imager/camera is a valuable tool to quickly check ALL supply ducts in ALL rooms to make sure they are all hooked up. Sure a digital IR thermometer will work also, but with an IR camera you just point it in the general direction. Most all of the A/C is in the attic around here. and no way are you going to visually inspect the duct(s) on a 100+ deg. day and a 140 deg. attic.
