Switch for a dryer booster fan

I know there are a lot of opinions on the use of dryer booster fans.
I ran across one in a condo today. The total run of duct was about 35'. Elect dryer.
The booster fan is below the laundry room about 15' from the dryer. It is labeled
as a "Elicent AXC100A" fan.
Two questions: 1) Is this fan even proper for a dryer vent use? Looks like it is not from what I could find.
And 2). It is on a separate wall switch. Must be turned on separate from the dryer. I would think if a booster fan is allowed, it would have to be on an automatic type of switch (maybe a pressure switch) so it always comes on when the dryer is turned on. Comments?

How do dryer exhaust fans work?

When the dryer is on, the patented pressure switch senses positive pressure in the duct and turns on the booster fan for a pre-determined time, at the end of the timer cycle the switch checks for positive pressure in the duct, if there is pressure in the duct the cycle continues.

It looks as though this fan is "proper for this use".
These are suitable for ducted ventilation systems in residential, commercial and industrial applications.

The companies web site shows it being made for the gardening industry! Air venting.

I say that is not proper for this use as those are for ventilation, not dryer ducts.

These dryer booster fans ( Continental Fan - Residential Fans & Air Purification (http://www.continentalfan.com/ecatalog.php?fantype=residential) ) have a model number which starts with a "D", for "Dryer"?.

Reading further it just says venting.
Since there is no mention of an auto-on feature, this fan is likely not a good choice for a dryer duct fan.

Thank you Jerry, You are right and I see the fan type that should have been used.
I can also see where a separate switch could be a danger. Thank you.
