Looking for opinions on types of decking preferences.
I am building a new deck and have decided to go with composite and was wondering if you guys (& girls) have any personal preferences regarding brand and type, solid vs the newer laminates. I prefer the solid type where it is the same color all the way through vs what it seems most suppliers are pushing (the laminated) Also leaning towards MoistureShield as the brand.

You have it figured out. Laminate can be damaged and you see what the core is. Solids either have filler or not. Some will stain more than others. It all boils down to what your are using the deck for and what you want it to look like. Trade offs. Buy some extra material. The product will be different (not mach) in 5 years.

I would suggest sticking with a name brand and a product that has been around for at least a few years. Some new products turn out to be a problem and small or newer companies may not be able to honor the warranty if some type of failure occurs.
