why do agents always get mad when I start laughing when I see that stuff?

Glad you caught that is was a condensate running trap, forgot to mention that in the post. And, it was a recent repair by a """HVAC"" contractor.

The thing is, regardless of whether that trap is run vertically as shown in the photo or horizontally, that trap (a running trap) is not permitted anyway.

So even if that running trap was installed horizontally, a running trap should be written up.

You could always explain that vertical running trap as the contractors way of avoiding cutting the PVC shorter ... he just heated it up and took the extra length up in the bend ... nothing wrong with that. :)

It may just be what they had in the truck. A trap may not have been required.
