Sump pump crock and shelves

Would like to place a shelf approximately 2 to 3 feet above the sump pump crock. Its a submersible sump pump and the plumbing exits through the wall just below the 2 feet mark. As long as the pump is accessible does code prohibit having anything above the pump?

The mechanical code requires clearance for servicing and access. As long as you maintain those required clearances it will be fine. That clearance would include the removal without taking anything down or apart.
