This was a first for me. I have had dogs barking and growling at my window but I have never had a Turkey keep me from getting out. I snapped this picture of the bird as the Realtor was driving up and honking her horn to chase it away. Apparently this bird is a regular but likes to chase and squawk at folks as they drive up to the house.

Scott,

Do you have a bunch of chrome on your truck?

Turkeys do not like chrome wheels, bumpers...

They will litterally attack a vehicle pecking at it furiously. Thats why I have a chrome plated shotgun.

Turkeys are getting into their mating season at this time of year and act a little wacky at times. Buy a hunting license and the turkey will magically disappear.

Probably wanted to mate with the other Turkey on the property, ( the realtor)

Actually Spring Turkey season opened up about two weeks ago, I think it has about another two weeks. This was a fairly young male, he didn't even have a beard or spurs. I had the opportunity to watch him for a good while and I must say the are one of the prettiest wild birds we have.

Ben Franklin supported the wild turkey for the national bird instead of the eagle.
