Unknown connection to drain off disposer

Something was once connected to this valve which would then discharge into the drain arm between the disposer and left-hand kitchen sink. Client gutting the kitchen and doesn't care. But my curiosity won't let it go. Any ideas?

RO water filter/treatment connection?

Not that anything should be connected there in any way, especially through one of those saddle type fittings.

Like Jerry said, it's from an RO filter under the sink. I have seen that set up hundreds of times.
I'm not blessing it, just identifying it.
