Does this type of decorative window adjacent to the door and the same type of window installed in the door need to be safety glass?

If it is less than 24" from the door frame it needs to be safety glass. Also the glass in the door needs to be safety glass if it is more than 3". Also the stairs present an issue as well. Safety glass is needed if the stairs are closer than 36".

That glass in the picture looks like safety glass.

Thats what I was thinking Scott.

I thought those frosted type windows were safety glass, although I've never actually found the sticker or ID bug on them stating so.

The lack of those visible etching identifications is reason to 'assume' they are not safety glass. Those markings are required to be visible 'after glazing',i.e., after the glazing is installed and trimmed out.

No ID mark, no tickee, no tickee, no laundry. ;)

Of course, though, there is always the 'Jerry Test' to see if it *was* or *was not* safety glass - a hammer works nicely ...

Or ... "passed" under testing. :D

It is nice here, compared to cold areas like MA. Where are you at this week?

I was over on the Gulf Coast a couple of weeks ago and the lady at the motel desk is trying to get back up to Rochester, NY - too warm here. Go figure.

I am at our condo in Pompano Beach. Drove by your exit (Ormond Beach) on Sunday. Got to get back by Dec 7. We may come back in January. Might as well be here the way inspection volume has dropped.
