Does anyone recognize this nest? It obviously is not termites or powderpost beetles. It is in a crawl space along the box sill. It was sent to me by a Realtor and I have not seen it personally, but I suspect some type of dauber or wasp. What do you think?

It is just a wasp nest.
It may be abandoned, only used for one year as a rule.

It's a paper wasp nest, I see them quite often in attics and crawlspaces. Most of the ones I find are not active, or just the remains. However I have come across some real huge ones that were active. I have seen some large ones around 3 feet wide.
