Okay, I know they are "fugly".

But I am looking for a more specific name than dormer. I believe they have a name different than dormer, but I just can't remember what it was that I had heard once upon a time.

I am going to go with mansard dormer. Maybe not accurate, but descriptive.

A modified cupola would be the correct answer.

A modified cupola would be the correct answer.

I will disagree. A cupola is at the peak.

Hence the modified. :)

Even if they have a name, nobody know it, so 'fugly metal dormers', would have to do. Otherwise, using the correct name just makes you a smart ss. :)
