View Full Version : Corrosion on Plastic Pipe to Copper

There is some corrosion that appears to be growing on the plastic pipe to copper pipe joint. Any incite into this kind of corrosion or whether it is just building up form a pin-hole leak in the joint would be appreciated.

Pin hole leak and subsequent mineral build up from hard water.

Or a leak at the threaded fitting.

Or a leak at the CPVC male adapter fitting as that looks to be one of the approved CPVC/copper male adapters (CPVC male adapters which are all plastic should not be used in hot water lines, and maybe not even if cold water lines - I'd have to look the cold water lines back up).

Just offering some other options, but if you just say "leak" at the fittings ... you cover any of the actual causes.
