Here's a news release from OREA (Ontario) regarding licensing home inspectors.

Interesting, especially if they make the wording, ".. program that would make it mandatory for all home sellers to conduct a home energy audit before they list their home. "
It would create a boom in FISBO sales (for sale by owner). No listing therefore not required.

Depends on how they define "list" their home - any "list" the FSBO "lists" their home on could be considered as "listing" the home, it didn't say 'list with MLS' or 'list with a real estate agent' did it.

Yep. Never know how the French - English conversion/translation effects things. You could be including the home in the list of other homes found in the classified section of a news paper, as one interpretation. When someone can say "it depends on the definition of "is"" anything goes.

What seems to be interesting with this release is others ready to line up to mandate radon, IAQ, etc should be a one-stop review of conditions. Now if this is expected to be part of a home inspection, I can see where certainly the cost of a home inspection may become unaffordable, or perhaps even waived due to increased cost.
